A maker space for electronics lovers.
THE IDEA
A new flagship for Jaycar Electronics, with a space for learning and making at its heart. Working with a retail strategy developed by Jaycar and our friends at Retail Oasis, we created an environment that is as much about learning and making as it is about shopping. Jaycar is still very much about the staggering range of merchandise on offer, and we had to plan to accommodate that as well as the Maker Hub space. Key to this was housing small components and widgets in a self-service “parts turbine” which is both engaging and efficient. As ever, lighting is a key feature of the design, whether it’s effective task lighting over the work benches or highly targeted spotlighting to add sparkle to the merchandise.
